Fin is great. Here's when we're better, and when we're not.
Fin is a serious product from a big company. For some teams it's the right pick, and we'll tell you which ones. For others, a stricter billable unit, free escalations and hands-on onboarding matter more. Every fact below is dated and linked, because a comparison written by one side deserves a raised eyebrow.
Side by side.Their public pages, and ours.
Facts about Fin come from Fin's and Salesforce's own pages, linked below. We describe what they publish. We don't grade the quality of their answers.
| Topic | Fin1 | Pronomy |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing unit | $0.99 per outcome. Sales "qualifications" are $9.99 each. | $0.39 per resolution, pay as you go (Launch). $0.33 per resolution with a monthly volume commitment (Scale). |
| What's billable | One outcome per conversation. An outcome can be a resolution ("no further help is requested after Fin's last answer"), a Procedure you set up to end in a handoff, a disqualification or a self-serve routing. A plain pass to your team with no outcome isn't charged. | Only a resolution that meets all five conditions: done within policy, every promised action confirmed by the system, no human takeover, no reopen within 7 days, scorecard passed. Every escalation is $0. |
| Minimums | 50 outcomes per month. "Minimum commitments apply" on other helpdesks. | None on Launch. Scale has a monthly volume commitment, set with you. |
| Seats | No seat cost when used on another helpdesk. With the Intercom helpdesk, from $19 per seat per month. | No seats. One agent per company. |
| Scorecards | "Custom AI Scorecards" are part of the Pro add-on, from $100 per month. | Included on AI conversations in Scale. Every plan checks the scorecard before billing. |
| Helpdesk | Built natively into the Intercom helpdesk. Also listed as working with Salesforce, HubSpot, Freshdesk, Zendesk and others. | Native with Zendesk and Slack. Other helpdesks connect via API, webhook or MCP. Can also run as a website chat widget. |
| Channels | Includes voice (custom pricing, select customers), chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, social and Slack. | The tickets your helpdesk receives, Slack, and our website widget. No voice. |
| Certifications | Fin's trust pages list SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 42001, HIPAA and AIUC-1, among others.2 | Not certified yet. We'll say so the day we are. GDPR-compliant processing, DPA available. NDA and DPA signed before we touch any data. |
| Trial | 14-day free trial, no credit card, self-serve. | No self-serve trial. Free onboarding, then shadow mode on your own tickets. Live |
| Spend controls | Configurable usage alerts, limits and real-time reporting. | Monthly spending caps, on every plan. |
| Startups | Early Stage program for eligible startups: a year of Fin free and 93% off Intercom. | No startup program today. |
| Ownership | Formerly Intercom; renamed Fin in May 2026. Owned by Salesforce since the acquisition closed on September 10, 2026.3 | Independent. PRONOMY OÜ. |

Pick the one that fits.Even if it isn't us.
We mean that. If Fin fits you better, we'll say so on the call. Then we'll go cry a little, privately.
Choose Fin if…
- You run on Intercom and want the AI and the helpdesk from one vendor.
- You need a voice channel. We don't offer one.
- Your security review needs SOC 2 or ISO certificates today. We don't have them yet.
- You want to try it yourself this afternoon, with no call. Fin has a 14-day self-serve trial.
- You're an eligible early-stage startup. A free year of Fin is hard to beat on price.
- You want a large vendor with a big ecosystem, or you already buy a lot from Salesforce.
Choose Pronomy if…
- You want to pay only for full resolutions, under a public definition, with $0 for reopens within 7 days and failed scorecards.
- You want every handoff to your team to be free, including the ones your rules require.
- Price per billable unit matters at your volume: $0.33–$0.39 per resolution.
- Your requests need several steps in your own systems (billing, subscriptions, CRM), and you want the reply to match the real result of each action.
- You want scorecards included in the plan, not as an add-on. (Scale plan.)
- You want hands-on, free onboarding: we map your flows with you, then start in shadow mode.
- You want your support AI from a company that only sells that, and isn't part of a CRM or helpdesk vendor.
Same tickets. List prices.Assumptions stated, so you can change them.
Three volumes. We assume the AI fully resolves 50% of tickets on both products. That's an illustrative number, not a rate either of us promises.
| Tickets / month | Resolutions (50%) | Pronomy Scale · $0.33 | Pronomy Launch · $0.39 | Fin · $0.99 list |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2,000 | 1,000 | $330 | $390 | at least $990 |
| 10,000 | 5,000 | $1,650 | $1,950 | at least $4,950 |
| 50,000 | 25,000 | $8,250 | $9,750 | at least $24,750 |
Assumptions: list prices only, checked October 2026 (fin.ai/pricing). Both products fully resolve the same 50% of tickets. Fin's billable outcomes are at least equal to those resolutions. Fin's outcome also counts Procedure handoffs and some sales routing, so a real Fin bill may be higher. Fin's Early Stage program and any negotiated terms could make it lower. Excludes helpdesk seats, add-ons (such as Fin's Pro), Pronomy's Scale commitment terms, taxes and discounts on either side. Not a quote, and not a guaranteed saving.
We sell one layer.Your helpdesk and CRM stay yours.
These are facts about structure, not a judgment of anyone's product.
Fin is built natively into the Intercom helpdesk and also works on other helpdesks. Since September 10, 2026, it is owned by Salesforce.
Pronomy is an independent company. We don't sell a helpdesk or a CRM. We plug into the ones you already use: natively with Zendesk and Slack, and via API, webhook or MCP for the rest.
Whether that matters depends on your stack, and on how you feel about buying your support AI from the same group as your other tools. Some teams want one vendor. Others want to keep the layers separate. Both are reasonable.
Run us side by side.On your tickets, before your customers see anything.
You don't have to switch to compare. Keep your current tool answering customers. Turn on Pronomy in shadow mode next to it.
- 1We map one flow with you from your tickets and policies. Free.
- 2Pronomy reads the same incoming tickets. It writes internal notes and proposes actions. It doesn't reply to customers.
- 3Your team compares both answers on the same conversations.
- 4If ours are better, move that one flow over. Keep the rest as it is.
On Zendesk this is native. On Intercom or another helpdesk we connect via API, webhook or MCP, and we'll confirm on the call what's possible in your setup. Only one AI should ever reply to a customer at a time. Your customer deserves one clear answer, not a duet.

No startup playbook told me to publish a page about when to pick a competitor. I did it anyway, because I’d rather you trust us than pick us by accident.
